Sabina
sports history has not
lost its appeal to local
fans, as evidenced by
the number of people
attending Sports Day at
the museum on January
19, 2004. Terry Richard,
Tom South, Sharon
Roberts and I hosted an
open house with the
purpose of reliving
memories of different
sports events which
occurred at Sabina High
School.
Terry
Richard’s
collection of sports
pictures and articles,
Sharon Roberts’
programs and other
articles, and the
trophies once contained
in trophy cases in the
hallway of the high
school were all on
display. Beryl
“Buck” Carter,
former Sabina High
School coach, came in to
share sports stories
with the visitors, as
did several former
basketball players who
had played for Buck or
Willard Henry, the coach
who preceded
him.
We
hope to repeat
“Sports Day”
in the
future.
