A
Monument of
Gratitude
There
has never been a time
when the service men and
women of this great
country did not deserve
our appreciation;
therefore, it is
important that we
acknowledge their
sacrifices.
A
few months ago, a large,
specially - chosen rock
from the Melvin Stone
Quarry was picked up by
Dodds Monuments' workers
and transported to their
Xenia shop. An inscribed
plaque was attached to
the rock and then it was
brought to the Sabina
Cemetery, where it was
placed in front of the
chapel at the cemetery
entrance. A dedication
ceremony will be held on
Memorial Day.
Our
sincere thanks to Melvin
Stone Quarry, M.E.
"Terry" Moore, and to
Dodds Monuments for the
donation of the rock,
the plaque and all the
work involved in
preparing and
transporting the
monument to the Sabina
Cemetery.
We
trust that this monument
will become a symbol of
our gratitude to our
active service men and
women and to our
veterans.
The
inscription on the
plaque reads as follows:
"In gratitude and
appreciation to the men
and women whose service
to our country in war
and peace has kept us
free."
